This policy explains how EdWise handles personal information on this website and in the EdWise school platform. It applies to visitors, and to the staff, parents and students whose schools use EdWise.
Schools decide what records they keep in EdWise. For that school data, the school is responsible for how it is used, and EdWise processes it on the school’s behalf.
What we collect
From visitors: the details you give us when you ask for a demo, such as your name, school, role and email address, and basic technical data such as pages visited.
From people who use EdWise: account details such as name, email and role, and the school records entered by the school or by its users, for example student profiles, attendance, results, fees and messages.
EdWise also keeps an activity log of important actions, so a school can see who changed what, and when.
How we use it
We use personal information to run and secure the service, to reply to demo requests and support questions, and to improve how EdWise works.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use school records for advertising.
How each school’s data is kept apart
EdWise is built for many schools on one platform. Every request is limited to the signed-in user’s school before it runs, and a person’s role controls which pages and records they can open.
Security
We use access controls, role checks on the server, rate limiting on sign-in and an activity log to protect information. Schools can also turn on email verification for new accounts.
No system is perfectly secure. If you think your account has been affected, tell us straight away.
How long we keep it
School records stay in EdWise for as long as the school uses the service, or as the school’s agreement with us says. Demo request details are kept for as long as we need them to follow up.
Children’s information
Students’ records are entered and managed by their school. Parents and students should contact the school about the information the school holds.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold. For school records, please ask your school first, because the school controls them. For anything else, write to us.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
